Natural lighting is best, and you have some! Instead of the dark part of the room, have you tried the dresser in the nook by the windows? The natural light plus a lighted makeup mirror would help. Paint the nook white to lighten things up a bit.

Bev, those mirrors come in various sizes. (the light is excellent btw). Including the wide view pro (16 by 20)....though I do wish the magnify part were a tad larger but the rest of it? I love. Maybe I have a small face?

I would put the dressing table under the windows for the natural light. And you could use some daytime lighting while you put on your makeup....maybe lamps?

I’ve looked at those mirrors. Now sure why I decided to go with the one I have. Maybe price but once I have scones etc, the price would be same if not more. I initially had table by the window but didn’t like it there. There are also many occasion when I put on makeup at night so would need lighting anyways.

Just seeing prices of the mirrors you posted now. The one I saw was WAY more. I will definitely look into one of the ones you posted. Any other suggestions to make the room more functional and cozy?

To reiterate what holly said, Simplehuman makes a great three way, lighted mirror I just ordered myself. It is quite pricey, though.
