Open ceiling are - Cofer, trey 9' or 10'

I cannot decide wether I should break up this large area of ceiling or not. A 9' flat ceiling would be the least expensive but would it look too plain? I am showing a 1'4 wide x 1' deep box around edges of areas with a ceiling height of 10' in the centers. What are
your opinions?
