I suggest you take a trip to the Dutch West Indies before you change the facade. Learn to appreciate the architecture of your home before you make a final decision.

I am needing to feel comfortable in the house, to make it a home.
It was built as a business.
We will be transforming it to live and share with family.
And I can't do Yellow!

I think you need to get an architect involved who specializes in renovating properties. Its a great building and the view is fabulous!

I agree with @decoenthusiaste. Your house really lends itself to a modern Dutch West Indies stye. It would be a shame to lose the roofline as a unique architectural feature. I think the color is what's really throwing things off. Just a simple color change completely changes the feel. I'd probably consider removing or changing out some of the awnings as well.
