If it’s a spare bathroom, maybe. I have one that’s integral with the counter. Sometimes I wish I’d just done a porcelain undermount. It looks great, but I’d prefer something not porous.

This would be in the master bathroom - a vessel sink. It's an Avanity sink, (oval) on the Perigold website. I'm thinking it wouldn't be such a good idea.

As others have posted, perhaps in a powder room which isn't used for anything but washing hands.

However, in my personal opinion, a vessel sink in a master is also not particularly functional as it is less convenient to use and more difficult to clean around.

@Helen can i ask you what products you use for your marble bathroom? we just redid our bathroom entirely in marble (except we put in porcelain sinks!) and i am scrounging around trying to find good cleaning products that won't harm the marble for when we move in, and actually start using it. thank you so much!

@modom erica On the advice of Dragonfly, a tile and stone pro who posts often, I am using MB Stone & More. It also works to clean mirrors which eliminates any chance of someone spraying mirrors with something harmful to the surfaces.

If you do a search on amazon, MB has a lot of products for the cleaning and maintenance of stone.
