Please help - Bench dilemma

Hi!

I have a decent space next to the door that leads to my garage, which is also next to my main door, and I would like to use that space to put a bench to store shoes/flip flops and rain boots. I also have an entrance space but I already have an entrance table there (my house has a strange design). I have a shoemaker in my garage but mainly with sneakers because I don't like how other shoes get dusty if they are kept in the garage. I found a bench I loved, however, the door would hit it if it was completely open. I don't care if the door hits the bench because I can get some pads for the corners, but I'm not sure if it looks weird. I currently have a basket for shoes next to the door on the right side, but I don't like how it looks.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Looks wrong.

What is the left wall width -- can the bench be turned to face the doorway ... or could the door be reversed to open the other direction?

IMO... it would drive me nuts not being able to fully open my front door. Its hard to tell, but it looks like that door will only open to a 60-degree angle, not very welcoming :-( Is there space along that wall opposite the front door for the bench?

My fear would be that the you and the kids(?) would have to enter and head into the hallway to clear the way for others to enter - and then backtrack to put their shoes in the cabinet. Might be a stretch to expect it to function the way you think it will...

Otherwise, find a chair at a thrift shop with enough room underneath for an attractive basket. Arrange your photos vertically on the right to balance out the left.

Thank you all! As much as I love this bench, mainly because of the doors, the fact that the door hits the bench every time we open it is already driving me nuts, lol. We usually go out through the garage because I park my car inside it. So, I ordered a new bench which is smaller and I think would fit in the space to the right of the door (see picture below). I am also thinking to put a long mirror on the wall by the front door. Any suggestions on that too? Should I put three more of the wall picture frames shown in the original picture below them?
