Since I've gotten my new washer/dryer (and soon to replace the new washer with a different one) I've been reading this forum from time to time and see quite a few complaints about deep washers and not being able to easily reach the bottom of the washer. Two words...kitchen tongs. I have a pair hanging on a rack in the laundry room. I'm 5' 3/4" and have a problem with my left leg. The one have to tip-toe on to try to reach the very bottom of the washer...OUCH! Several years ago I thought of using tongs to fish out those items I couldn't comfortably reach. The laundry room has it's own dedicated pair of tongs and my bad leg/foot is happier for it :)
