Backsplash in Bath vanity Necessary?

I’m thinking about replacing the black granite bath vanity top with one that does t come with the back and side granite pieces to match. The one I like is Kohler Ceramic Impressions in white. Then I’m going to paint the dark wood vanity black. So my question is does anyone have a vanity with No backsplash and do you like it or regret it? I don’t want to do tile behind.

We were originally going to do tile backsplash and never got around to it for a variety of reasons. I don't "love" seeing the caulk behind the sink/counter and, over time, the caulk discolors a bit and will probably have to be replaced. In the end, it doesn't bother me or stand out as a big mistake but if I could have a redo, I'd do the tile.

Unless you do a lot of splashy business (washing hair or laundry in sink, say), you can often get away with no backsplash. Lots of modern looks omit one.

The top on our new vanity had no backsplash. I intended to create one but no one complained, so there it stays. A bead of clear silicone is fairly inconspicuous

In our old house we had furniture-style vanities in the master bath with granite tops and no backsplash. No problems with it at all!

My powder room vanity has never had a backsplash, and is the most used in the house. Lived here 25 years without issues.

Thank you all for your encouraging advice ! I’m going to go for it with no backsplash. It’s for a guest bath that gets very little use so I should be fine. Yay!
