Dining room advice needed

Need some advice on finishing up decorating our dining room. For reference the table and chairs are pottery barn banks in alfresco brown, walls are SW useful gray, tile is saltillo with some mosaics. The door to the kitchen is next to the art, and the back wall is an open archway to the hall. We plan to rehang the art a little lower but will be keeping it, otherwise plan on removing everything else. I was thinking about riviera stripe curtains for the windows and maybe a table runner in the same or solid navy, as well as some lower vases/bowls of some sort (maybe simple white ceramic with greenery) on the table (current arrangement doesnt seem to work with chandelier height, but we are open to changing out light fixture as well). Also thinking about mirrors/something on either side of the window. The space feels too empty as is. Any suggestions appreciated!

Yes it seems very sterile. Everything is a hard flat surface - no soft textile anywhere. Window panels and a table runner will help. Are you considering a rug?

I’m not sure about anything else but I think the chandelier looks too heavy with the dining set.

Echoing other posters, you need some color. I could see either one of the above rugs in your space.

Might want to consider Roman shades instead of curtains since it looks like you can’t take curtains to the floor? Add more art to the wall and introduce some color there too.

The floors have lots of personality, but the rest of the room is too neutral and all the same shade. I would use colorful art bringing in warmer colors on the walls. You can combine blues and terra cotta, which would look great. The gray art doesn't add anything to the space. I would not use a rug, as the floors have a lot of pattern already. Instead of short curtains, I would use woven wood roman shades, which will add texture and fit better with the style of your home. You could even leave the windows bare once you have artwork on the walls.

Thanks everyone! I agree, I think a rug or some textiles will help to give it more personality and soften it. The art is actually a blue color, in the photo its a little washed out I think from being taken at night, so maybe I will try to incorporate some more blue colors throughout the rest of the room.
