I just watched an episode of Christina on the Coast and she did a similar kitchen to yours. She picked a white backsplash but did a cool grey grout and it was very pretty. The backsplash wasn’t subway tile. Maybe something like these?

Pretty kitchen! I think what you chose would work great but you’ll need to remove the 4” counter backsplash first.

You have a backsplash, albeit only 4". You need to determine the feasibility of removing that prior to install of another back splash.

I would go with cream tile that you chose and gray grout. The backsplash will make it easier to clean as things can splash when cooking. If not at least get a semigloss paint to protect the wall over time, otherwise nice kitchen.

I agree with jupidupi. I think it looks great as-is, and I am not normally a fan of the 4" counter backsplash. If you do decide to tile, remove the current splash.

I would leave as it or remove the 4" and add a full height backsplash.

I like it just the way it is. If you change anything, repainted with a color that is less yellow. Personally, I like the 4" backsplash. I know everyone wants tile on their walls, but I think it is too busy with a patterned counter top. That is why I decided to go with 4" backsplash for my kitchen last year. I like the clean lines and simplicity.

I like the bead board look for your kitchen. You don’t ‘have to’ remove that existing splash. It’s not like the design police will arrest you. There are many examples of the combo here is just one:

agree with thinkdesignlive. Good idea. I actually have beadboard in my current kitchen. We put it up while we debated...15 years later...lol

Consider leaving the 4 inches already there and add a glass backsplash up the rest of the way. A clean look that won't interfere with the pattern on the counter.

I also think what you have looks great, and I'd be reluctant to change it. With the rising popularity of the DeVOL/Plain English kitchen look (both of which frequently just use a small stone backsplash), I think we're going to start to see a return of this look.

I am usually not a fan of quartz, but yours looks great in your kitchen! What quartz did you use?

I totally agree with Kathy!! I'm not a fan of quartz, but it works here. I would take down the 4" backsplash if you are going to do tile. I'm a huge fan of fireclay and encore. I think either

would look great here.
