Painted cabinets with quartz counter tops. Mistake?

When we first got the house a few years ago one of the first things I did was painted the cabinets white. They don't look bad but you can see brush marks when you look close. The paint has held up really well. Everyone things the white looks way better than the 90's oak.

The current countertop is dark blue with oak around it and it really looks gross. I just ordered quartz countertops but wondering if I made a mistake by not replacing the cabinets with brand new ones. Is it going to be a turn off when we go to sell the house when they see painted cabinets but nice countertops? I will not surprise me if we are moved out in a few years which is another reason I did not want to completely redo the kitchen.

I can still cancel the countertops and get a full refund.

Thoughts?

A friend of mine just did this (repainted his cabinets and pit om quartz countertops) The job he did looks great. He was careful in selecting the quartz to the cabinet color. Did you borrow or purchase a sample and look at it next to the existing cabinets?

Only you can do this math, and it has a lot to with where the rest of your house is at. Unless you're planning to sell to flippers, I think it would be more of a turn off for potential buyers to see a completely gross kitchen than one with nice counters and cabinets that look a bit suboptimal when you examine them closely. Sounds like you will be around to enjoy the quartz for a few years at least, and that's not nothing.

What kind of sink did you purchase? We are putting in quartz countertop over existing cabinets that are 30 years old. I think we need a sink that is not too heavy....any advise?
