Honestly if it was me, I wouldn't want to put money and effort into something that I was just going to redo anyway. I'd let it be until I installed the deck.

But on the topic of the deck itself, that's pretty low for a deck. Decks that close to the ground tend to end up with cupped boards due to the lack of ventilation. That's why I always recommend building decks with at least 18" of ground clearance.

The main points are to pick a sturdy material (like ipe wood), and use thick narrow boards (e.g., 5/4x4). Or you could consider using deck tiles that were designed for installation at ground level.

I have successfully done multiple decks at that level and they turn out great. It's basically building it on the ground. You can use 2X4's on end (PT) 16" on center and deck over it. You could reuse the decking material later. This could entirely be a DIY project. I think you'll love the deck at the grade of your back door. It's flush and it just feels like an easy extension. How successful a ground level (or very close to it) deck would be depends a lot on the climate. Here, something like that would have a very short lifespan, treated lumber or not.

It wouldnt last very long here either. My advice for temporary, to make it look better until you can afford to do a better patio, would be to clean it up and make it look really good. Buy an inexpensive indoor outdoor type carpet (not the green grass type look), and put on it, along with some nice colorful outside furniture, and maybe even a firepit on it, and enjoy it. I would like to suggest, you remove that vine thing growing up your house, that can destroy a structure very fast, if not removed and it doesnt look good anyway. It appears that you have planting beds around the patio, put something bright and colorful in them. Get some large pots and plant with colorful flowers to set around on that patio, and you will be able to enjoy it, for a long while.

Agree with earth essence completely. At grade decks can be successful just do your homework first before you embark on it. We'd recommend some excavation beneath and backfilling with peastone, vents on side and back by wall, also step up your joist structure to a hardwood as opposed to SYP PT.
