You seem to have the process backwards. Choose your carpet first and then select a paint that works with it.

Very nice color for a “lower level’ (sound better?) area…sunny and warm. Going to recommend a solution dyed nylon carpet (look at Mohawk) with a good pad (recommend SmartSense because it has a water-proof top layer and if it needs to be seamed, have the seam duct-taped).

Just add small touches of the wall color…in the art and fleck in the carpet.

Paint is the last step in a makeover. As you've learned, fabrics and textiles are set in stone, but paint colors are miriad and can even be custom blended to work with your upholstery, carpet and drapes. Paint a big swath of your color on posterboard and take it with you to the carpet store. Be sure and go outside in natural light to compare rug to paint. You might want to change the light bulbs at home to LEDs in the 4,000 Kelvin range for truer daylight colors in a closed basement.
