Check inside the cabinets for labels. You may be able to find the name of the manufacturer and still get matching cabinets. If you can add drawer bases instead of doors, you'll greatly increase your storage space.

I think it’s a great idea. You could also extend it (depending on what’s to the left in the photo) and maybe get another 18-24” of space (which would involve a new counter but may be worth it - and could always do one of the nicer new laminates to save $). Nice space!

It looks like you can easily add cabinets where the pillars are and not have to change countertops. Contact a local cabinet shop to match door style and color.
If there is room you could also add overhang for seating if you raise or lower the countertop. There are a few options: bar height countertop with supports sitting on top of the existing peninsula counters in an L shape or straight along the back of cabinets, shortwall behind the penninsula cabinets with countertop sitting on the wall, or lowered countertop at table height.

Is there a wall of cabinets off to the left where we can’t see? You don’t need a bkfst bar and stools because there is an adjacent dining area. I would definitely put cabinets under the peninsula, maybe with doors on both sides. You can store rarely-used things on the dining area side.

You can in fact do this but, make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing to install. There is a lot of potential to break off your granite during the transition.

Sounds like a good idea. It might also permit you to add a microwave so you could add an exhaust hood over the stove.

Your cabinets under the peninsula do not have to match.They can be a totally different color. Is there any chance you would want to change the whole peninsula cabs? Then there are creative ways to mask the cabs that face the outside of the kitchen. Get a cab prof or a kit designer to guide you with the different choices. You are not locked into what is there already but it does have to work together in harmony. That peninsula counter might be able to be changed also and add some interest. There are so many materials to choose from so that it all looks intentional. What do you think?

a custom kitchen cabinet maker could easily make the doors match what you have. not a big deal. call in a carpenter or kitchen cabinet company who does custom carpentry.

AmyFischer, You can do whatever you love as long as it is coherent, is harmonious. There really are no rules other than that and of course that it makes " sense"/ Get samples of materials for counter tops and paint colors that you love. Put them together first to see if you love the color design combo.

You can even send away for cab door samples.. they are small don't worry lol. .This will help you visualize what it can be in the kit. After you are fairly sure and have a few options that you love then get a professional to consult with. J

ust for the heck of it.... natural wood tone cabs would look lovely with white cabs but they need to work well with the flooring . By the way your flooring is lovely ............very very nice...
