am not sure how to use this site. I keep being cut off. I wanted to supply more information about the dust problem. The first time I cleaned it. It looked the same the next day and I thought I hadn't done a good job cleaning it so I cleaned it again and I mopped it. Couple of days later it look like there was a shadow of it and I just thought it was some weird persistent thing that I couldn't get cleaned up. But then I realized it's just a brand new set of more dust. The first thing I thought of was termites but it doesn't look or smell like sawdust. Also we have a pest control firm on retainer since this is a very old house built in 1872. But we have lived here for over 20 years and never seen anything like this. I will try to post a picture of what's above it because it's at the base of a bay window and I'm wondering if the woodwork on the steal

ing of the bay is having problems of some sort.

It is not showing up well in the pics. Can you wipe with a white paper towel or cloth so we can see how much and the color? Is it only in this area or all over the house?

Is it possible being blown in from our side through gap in window? Depending what is in your outside area?

Even though you have a pest control company, many of them won't tell you that you have termites even if they see an active swarm.

You will need a termite inspection and if you do have termites, you will need to have it treated and the damage repaired.

Stay away from the large franchise type termite companies. Go with a trusted local company. I have seen one of the well known termite company brands deliberately ignore a massive termite infestation on a listing I had because they had treated the house 10 years before and the owner paid the termite bond annually. They didn't want to honor the terms of the termite bond. This is not an isolated case. Vet the vendor.

Have you bought any new furniture or new flooring in the area? I've found that some laminate products attract dust like crazy. It seems you can never make it go away. Especially IKEA laminate furniture. It's a constant battle of keeping it from looking dusty.
