TV feature wall

I have an open concept bungalow with vaulted ceilings. My TV wall is opposite (but slightly offset) from my kitchen. I would like to put a wall panel of some sort to “frame/anchor” the TV, then possibly add art to either side of the panel. Since my kitchen is high gloss white and walnut (with a faux marble white/gray backsplash) ...I am thinking the wall panel should match the walnut (if I do wood). An alternative I’ve considered is an upholstered or wallpapered panel in a light warm gray fabric or wallpaper to tie in the kitchen backsplash. I’ve also thought about painting the tv wall. There is a 12 foot media unit (in high gloss white) running the length of the wall. I want to do white floating shelves high up on the wall. So, it’s the space between the media units and the upper shelves that I’m struggling with. Currently, all of my walls are a warm white. I’d love the tv wall to look rich, sophisticated, pretty. Any and all suggestions, feedback, differing opinions are welcome! Thank you so much :)

Would it be too dark if you covered the entire wall behind the TV with wood to match the walnut?

Interesting! Thank you for the feedback. I don’t know to be honest. I think it might be too heavy and too expensive...as I would use IKEA cover panels to get the exact match to my kitchen and they are quite heavy to wall mount. If I frame only my tv, I can set the bottom edge of the panel on the media units. I thought about wallpapering the whole wall...was just worried it would throw off the balance as all of my other walls are white...thank you for the suggestion though...it made me think :)

there's actually quite a few things you could do. I'll post a bunch of options.

as mentioned, a wood wall. you can do a slat design w/walnut, or any wood and paint it. even a trim molding design (pic 2)

this one is more like a wood floor on the wall (easy to do w/wood flooring of your choice)

paint the wall black, but only go 3/4 of the way up, like here:

wall paper or a wall decal. (this is removable

you could build a custom wall book case like this, paint it black (or just the wall black w/white shelving) and have a cut out space for the tv/console

paint it an accent color, add art, some lamps on either end of the console. (what's there now is too short)

solid black wall and console. this is pretty cool looking. add some greenery and white accents

Wow, thank you...will take a closer look at each picture. I love wood slats...

would you run them to the ceiling? My wall has that weird vault ( I call it weird as I’m not sure whether to accentuate the vault line or minimize it with more linear/rectangular details)... and I stare at this wall every day, lol ;)

I’ll post another pic...I see that the one I included doesn’t reflect the vault very well!

It’s about 8ft on right and 12 feet far left

    In height

char, if you did a vertical slat, the vault wouldn't interfere. if you go horizontal, you could cut to fit where it slopes, or, just stop 3/4 of the way up. up to you. but a good wood person would be able to cut w/the slope

Thanks so much. I think slats would be much lighter than cover panels to mount. I will give that some thought. I have the month off....and some power tools...so perhaps it could be a diy project :)

it's not too difficult. walnut is expensive, so you could do `1x1 or 1x2 Doug Fir, and stain them a dark walnut. get a finish nailer and a ladder! but if you can swing the walnut, by all means!
