Can Hardie Board Be Installed on Block Wall

When clearing our home site we lost quite a bit of "dirt" and discovered the lot sloped more than the original survey showed. That being said we had to drop the garage and build up with more block. Is it possible that the plank Hardie Board we are installing can go past the framing line onto the block???

See photos. We will be bringing in some dirt but not enough to fill all the way up. Instead of stuccoing the block I would rather the plank continue down for a cleaner look. But can that be done?

Typically yes, but you would need to run wood furring to attach the Hardie to. The wood furring would be attached to the concrete block. Are the block filled with cement?

This is a question for your builder.

Here is a cross section similar to what you have.

They may need to run furring strips (green) on the block and on the wall above to keep the siding aligned.

The "survey" may have been an aerial. Frustrating & usually leads to surprises.

I think I'd like seeing the foundation stucco'd instead of more siding as to me the extra height of siding would make the proportions seem off for the house.

Consider creating a visual base for your house to set on using a water table molding near the level of the framing line. Your architect (if you have one) can elaborate on it.

Your rear porch lip is visually establishing the floor level so, agreeing with above, I would not want siding to extend too much lower; use the block to create a nice base.
