You mean to paint the entire wall, door and panelling all the same colour?

Some interesting artwork set in the panels could add colour and be flexible to change.

Downpipe? Looks to me like a slab or darkness would help.

From skirting board to ceiling? Encasing the wall paneling and the door?

Hi tonicuk, I would say yes to everything (skirting, door, panels all the way to the ceiling) for both colourhappy and my suggested colours. Then you wouldn't get a bad bitsandpieces effect but something that looks deliberate and part of the kitchen design. I was thinking of a dark colour like colourhappy suggested but I thought it may be too strong. On reflection and looking at your pics again, I think it would ground the space and look utterly fabulous.

@T Gray - we are going to go with this idea! We decided to go with F&B Studio Green. We saw it and couldn't resist!

There’s a trendy restaurant in my town which has gone all Granny Chic with old paintings, William Morris wallpaper and fringed lampshades. So cosy.

Yes, paintings in a kitchen can look nice, but I certainly wouldn‘t hang my Van Goghs over the hob... 😮🤣
