Carpet on landing.. would you change?

Hello- I recently had a runner installed on my stairs (upstairs carpeting went in first). I hadn’t thought to ask what color the binding would be on the sides and assumed it would be beige.. and it’s blue. I actually like the blue the more I look at it, but now I don’t like the look of the wrapped top step- I think it looks messy.

How would you approach this? Pull up the carpet on the top step and stain the nosing and add scotia molding underneath like the steps below?

Looks fine as is. Leave it alone. The blue side binding on your runner looks good. Carpet company made a really good choice. If they chose beige, it could easily have been the wrong beige and clashed with your upstairs carpet. You should give them a thank you...

Don't change it. You have two different carpets touching the same piece of architecture (the top step). This is how it looks.

Remember: An ounce of prevention is worth a pound ($) of cure; and the cure is often worse than the disease. And it will cost a pretty penny to put something in that isn't going to look any better.
