Interesting! I had never heard of such! This would actually work great in one of the areas that is near and entry and we had no clue where to direct the downspout without being a rushing river to walk through.

We have a galvalum metal roof, would copper 1/2 round gutters clash next to the "silver"? eventually the copper will tarnish and thats the color I actually want... I just don't know if its too much contrast or bc/ its just 2 small areas if it will be that loud.

I think mixing metals would be awesome!

I think we are working in the dark post some pics of the house and the problem areas. IMO gutters are best when they just disappear and are really not a design element other than the rain chain idea .I do know that you need to be careful of adding copper to galvanized metal.

To safely connect copper and galvanized steel, you have two options. Since brassdoesn't react with either the copper or the zinc, one method is to make sure you have a threaded female end on both the copper and the steel pipes, and then connect the two by simply inserting a short threaded brass nipple between them.

From what I can tell, the roof and the gutter won’t touch at all. The gutter would attach to my Hardie Fascia/Soffit. I’ll post pictures 🙂

You can get the old school half-round gutters pretty easily, and they're not expensive.
