A picture of the rooms would help to see how they connect. Is there are the openings? It may be best to paint all gray lake

There is no real reason you must switch colors at all between rooms. l. Art, rugs, other soft furnishings etc all define a space. A simple "envelope" of color is quite unifying. It can easily be altered and defined with paper or a one room paint change up the road . Paint "gray lake", use a unifying white trim. Everywhere : ) Start with BEDDING in your master, and select paint accordingly. .......and relate that to the bath.

You add light with lighting paint will not do it. I think all one color where you see the spaces together is a nice simple way to avoid the hassle of making wall colors work together. Grays can be hard to get right when mixing them.

Thank you all for your advice about using Gray Lake all over; I think you are right about this especially since the rooms are small. The house before the fire had natural wood trim and the original 1937 windows. I have new windows and the house will be repainted, including the trim. The floors are also being redone. I am sharing the floorplan. The openings between the foyer, living and dining room are arched. In addition, the plan has the living and dining room reversed.
