Is that a 30" vanity? How does it look if you turn the mirror sideways? It's a very pretty mirror.

I have a 31" x 25" mirror above each sink but also 10' ceilings so I could place the lights higher up the wall.

Yes, it's a 30 inch vanity. It seems too short when turned sideways. I'm short so it was fine for me but my husband said it doesn't work for him. I'm looking online for smaller mirrors. I'm super bummed because I do like this one.

If you place it higher up, sideways, it should work for you as well. By looking at your first photo, you should be able to see yourself in the mirror if placed higher..it's only for the face anyway.

The mirror can go under the light scones to fit either way but I was thinking I should have it spaced lower than the scones. What is the rule on that? Should there be some wall space below the lights and above the sink? That was my concern.

It looks a tiny bit too tall and not quite wide enough. I think you need a mirror hung horizontally that will be at least as wide as the backsplash.

There can be space between counter and mirror or not..it really depends.

This is about 6 inches above the sink backsplash.

The sink top is 31 inches and the mirror is 28 inches

I think it looks good. You could lower it an inch just to have a bit more space between frame and lights

I think it does look a little too tall in your first photo. As a rule of thumb, there should be space between the mirror and vanity as well as mirror and lights. The photo of it being placed horizontally could work...try lowering it just a little and see what it looks like. Worst case scenario, you could use the mirror in another room in your house.

I think it looks fine both ways. The sideways may protect it from splashes at the bottom.

If anyone else has links to pictures of similar ones and knows what type, I know it's off topic for this thread but send me a message if you can. I like the longer shades on this one that cover the bulb--hate seeing it glaring out the bottom of so many ordinary covers you can get at the hardware store--and the frosted glass. I'm looking for brushed nickel and a clean, simple design aesthetic--getting ready to update all the hardware in two bathrooms that have 25-year-old mismatched stuff. I'm also figuring out what kinds of mirrors to hang, which is what got me to this discussion.

I bought them from Home Depot. I can't remember the name of them.

@Tammy Lutz I think the mirror turned looks fantastic. I agree with @FrameMyMirror about lowering it if it's not too low for your husband. It's so nice of @FrameMyMirror to do the mock up. Love the mirror...what brand is it? Thank you!
