Kraftmaid Vantage Evercore or painted maple?

We need to make decisions on our kitchen for our home under construction very soon. We're working with an independent Kraftmaid dealer who has recommended Evercore for the painted cabinets and maple, plywood construction, for the stained. Does anyone have experience or knowledge regarding which is better for both kitchen cabs and bathroom vanities? This dealer has a row of shaker cabinets on display done in Evercore white dove that look very nice. Our current plan is white shaker for uppers and lowers with the island done in Kaffe. And now I'm wondering if the Kaffe is too much contrast to the white dove.

We met with another independent dealer who handles Waypoint, but from what I've read so far, Waypoint is less expensive but also lower quality.

Any advice or suggestions will be very much appreciated.

    Google reviews for 2019 experiences.

Mostly the same experience I just had. The "bean counters" squeezed too much.

Evercore is far more stable. Makes for a great kitchen if the other. 2/3 of the job are on board. That being the Kitchen Designer with a great design, and the Cabinet Installer, with a skilled install.

We are going with Painted Vantage full plywood box Shaker Sedona instead of Evercore. We received out sample door this week and for the amount we are spending (no up charge for evercore) we heard from several dealers to stick with maple & skip evercore. If you are going with Dove White be careful as it is a lot darker than a 'pure' white cabinet. That white would not work for us and we had to adjust it. Good Luck

P McG We haven't made our decision yet, we have one more dealer we're planning to meet with. We have a sample door that we ordered from Kraftmaid in maple dove white, shaker cab that we really like. We want to discuss the pros and cons of maple full plywood vs Evercore with the next dealer. We have to make our decision in the next few weeks and get the order placed.

Jeffrey R. Grenz, terrible reviews @ kitchenreviews.com. We remodeled a bathroom a few years ago and put in a Kraftmaid vanity and linen closet and they both look as good as the day we put them in. That's one reason we're interested in Kraftmaid for our kitchen. Sad that there are so many complaints when you put your $$ and trust in a company.

Wayne, what color did you decide to go with for yours?

Because we have white appliances (yes I know) and my wife wants white cabs and a KM surfside island, a lot of experiments with whites were done from 3 manufacturers. This all had to work with a Cambria top and a specific glass tile backsplash. We had Kraftmaid make us a door in Valspar Woodlawn Dewkist for $225.00 (we get a $50.00 rebate later) . They call it the ColorMatch Program and it is only available at dealers (not big box). It was the best match for the appliances - cooler white that has a drop of black, umber and fuschia in it. I had to make a judgement call before Kraftmaid would take that color and add their finish top coat to it. The experiment worked. Note though that the Dove White would have been fine with stainless. It was just too gray white with the white fridge etc. Good Luck!

We just installed kraftmaid sonata evercore. Midnight lowers and white dove uppers. Love them so far, we didn’t upgrade to plywood, not necessary IMO. Still under construction but some pics..

WOW! we are also getting the Sonata doors. Looks great and thank you for sharing.

    Thank you @P McG

@itsourcasa I just came across this post and then noticed your backsplash in your post about the window trim. I love it! Would you mind sharing a link to that tile? And do you have any pictures of your finished kitchen? You can message me, if you like. We are meeting with a KD next week and we are very interested in the Evercore (slab doors, dove white and maybe midnight like yours or one of the grey tones, not planning on upgrading the boxes). Are you happy with the finished product?

@itsourcasa - your kitchen looks amazing! Are you still happy with the Kraftmaid Evercore cabinets? I'm just about to order Kraftmaid Dove White shaker style cabinets for our kitchen and struggling between Maple or Evercore.

@Miri D sorry never saw your comment here until now... @kskiak yes we're very happy with our kraftmaid cabinets, no issues, love them!

@itsourcasa-what did you put as a counter top on your island? and is that Bedrosians cloe as a backsplash? Your kitchen is my dream kitchen!

Jennifer - I'm unable to tag you so I hope you see this. We went with quartz for the countertops, santamargherita quartz, no complaints! We used the floor & decor version of the cloe backsplash, it's exactly the same just less expensive. It's called adessi pearl zellige.

Maple vs Evercore is just how the doors are made...nothing to do with the plywood or PB box construction. We've had great luck with both maple and evercore. My business partner prefers the evercore. I think it's a coin toss. But if the wood separation bothers you at all....go with Evercore doors instead of maple.
