I like all these choices but the pillows don't go together, right? The faux pillows are on the way out. I am just not loving the grey and the pillow. I purchased 2 pillows yesterday I will send a pic.

Here are some ideas. You need taller lamps, your art needs to be lowered about 2” and it is a bit too small. You could add sconces possibly each side to expand look. I like the cerused wood look for your night stands. They can add some needed personality. I don’t know how much room you have either side of bed or how high your mattress is. These are important to size of night stands. Here are some initial ideas.

No the pillows aren't too loud. The items of navy [as an amateur I'd call it] make it a crisp traditional look, and that is nice. Possibly curtains could have very subtle texture.

I like the idea of coordinated furniture but not matching furniture like Flo's ideas. I feel like your choices are heavy feeling while Flo's are more open feeling. it would bring more uniqueness to the room.

The navy headboard is casual with buttons and not very high because of the picture.

personally I like white. but that's just me as I lean toward white over ivory or cream. white brightens a bed to me.

Roberta- the original photos are looking more gray/lavender in your art than blue. Be careful on colors on internet. Do you know the name and brand of paint on your walls? You can mix navy with a wide range of colors. Your pillow selection looks like you favor blues? But you can go beyond blues for your color palette. Do you have good closet? Many people are getting max out of organized closet rather than buying dressers that take up a lot of space in small bedroom. There are also good narrow solutions that save space too. Any thoughts on those topics!

Great ideas for the shoes. I do have room plus I had to downsize quite a bit. Our bedroom is quite large with a king size bed. I would rather have a nightstand with drawers for storage. Thank you for all ideas presented. I am researching and must decide soon.

You can do almost anything with your headboard. Other parts of home not that vital. You want calm, restful bedroom. This is really perfect look for your room.

I agree with Frankie, Flo, and everdebz. This room challenged me and now I realize there is tension between the soft and moody painting against the button down traditional furniture, lamps, and pillows. Take your cue from the painting as Flo showed, and go soft, calming, even spa like. The lamps need to be taller and bigger but soft, like the glass lamps Flo had. The soft midtone wood you all like is good.

I would add--change the curtains to lined panels instead of colored sheers, and consider a soft grey or putty, not just navy. Would you also be open to new bedding?

In the painting I see blue, lavender, purple, putty, pale gray, and some white. It would be interesting to bring out some of these colors too. This is inspiring, see what other Houzzers say on this! Keep us posted!

Found some interesting bedding options. Pros, what do you think? You could mix a matelasse coverlet or a blanket in with your existing comforter, or splurge on new duvets like the ones here. Some also have similar curtain colors. You could really make this bedroom your own.

I took back the grey shag pillows and I am trying to incorporate her purple pillow on the bed with the wave pillows . My bed is a king I can not have 3 purple pillows for sure. Any suggestions with the purple pillow?

Hi Roberta, good to hear from you. The pillows are where you can get creative. I am not sure what you have now or what a wave pillow is. Some of this is going to depend on the new bedding you end up with.
You can always find purple, gray, and/or white pillowcases or shams, layer these up, then use the throw pillow last as decoration. Go 2 of 1 color, 2 of second color, 1 of 1st color(or 3rd), then 1 purple throw pillow. I think the pillows closest to the headboard should be white or silver for contrast.

FLo sent me 2 pillows to use , one is the dark purple pillow and then one was a pillow with waves on it. Would they go together or not? I had a hard time finding them but I finally did.

Hi there, I just purchased one of the pillows Flo mentioned. I won't receive it until 7-7. This has been a nightmare for me. I think and think and think and still but the wrong thing. LOL.

Oh no Bobbi, it is supposed to be fun. I do know about the pillow issue though where you're just not sure. I also know about supply chain--my short term rental downstairs is all hinging on the arrival of a toilet--take 2!! First time the tank was AWOL, since May.

FLo mentioned that my picture looks more lavender than blue. It does have a small area of lavender but for the most part it is shades of blue. I just purchased the purple pillow and now I am wondering if this will be too much purple.
