When you take the tree out of the pot, take a good look at the roots. Circling big roots are not needed, consider cutting them of cleanly. You might consider a slightly bigger pot, add a little fill and you are done.

As Steve mentioned, pictures would help. If the plants are young and not likely to set fruit, then just go ahead and carefully transplant. But if the plant is mature enough to hold fruit and if you have or can find the same pot, you can just put the failing pot into the new pot (like stacking cups). And then transplant once you've harvested the fruit.
