Need help hanging a mirror

We bought a beautiful, but heavy, mirror to put on our dining room wall. However, the studs did not line up where we could hang it directly in the center of the wall. Any ideas how to center a heavy wall mirror if you have this problem?

Have you thought about using molly bolts?

That depends on the mirror frame, what is on the back to hang it, and how big it is.

The mirror is 5' tall and 3.5' wide. It weighs about 50 lbs. There are two loop-brackets on the back - one on each side - for the hooks on the wall to fit into and hang from. Thanks, Laurie for the suggestion of molly bolts but the hangers for this large a mirror will not allow molly bolts - only long nails run through the wall bracket. We have one side nailed to a stud and the other in sheetrock, but as I said before, this leaves it off balance on the wall.

I was going to suggest a wall anchor on one side, but if a molly bolt won't work, I am still missing something. Can you get a close-up picture of the nail through the bracket on the stud side?
