That was my thinking, but I didn’t know if there was a benefit to having it there to protect the wall or something I don’t know about...

I would have the tile continue to the same height as the backsplash.

I would continue the tile up the wall to the bottom of the cabinets.

I’d have it removed. It doesn’t look right.

Love the tile. I don't have tile on the side and it is just fine. As other suggested you could go up to the height of the bottom of the cabinets will tile topped off with a bull-nose row.

What’s to the left of the range and how does the backsplash end over there? I don’t like a side splash, so I’d remove it. Love the tile.

Thanks y’all! Appreciate the complaints and the suggestions. Think we are torn on either adding another 2 rows for a taller side splash or going up to where it would meet the cabinet. There is currently none on the other side as that is the cabinet mill work, but I feel like it should be in order to be balanced.

I would not add 2 more rows and I would not add any to the other side.

I would remove the one row that you have.

In this instance, less is more.

all or nothing... meaning either remove it or add up to match height of back row... dont add just two more rows.... that would look way off.
