Love your post and beam home! You ceilings aren't "paneled" but rather probably tongue and grove cedar, and they are gorgeous!

I live in a very similar home. I've found over the years that it works best with white walls. When you have that much architecture going on in a room -- not to mention the dark-ish ceilings -- the white really helps to "brighten" things up and keep it uncluttered feeling.

I like the idea of a grey sofa ... actually, that's what I have in my space.
