I had posted on here about our kitchen renovation and the ups and downs, starting with a contractor that we had used several times previously, stealing our deposit. Later it was asking for opinions about the farm house sink framing that I got sorted out with an overlay.

My daughter was getting married at the time and right after the renovation was complete we were busy hosting showers and dealing with all the million wedding details and so I never got around to sharing the before and after of our 3 phase renovation.

1st phase was right after we bought, but before we moved in. Scraped ceilings, new paint and new flooring, as well as a make shift pantry.

2nd phase was in 2016 with opening up a wall half way and building a real pantry.

3rd phase was the completion of my dream kitchen.

We are now thinking about selling and building a new home around the corner. We've put a lot of blood, sweat, money and tears into this cottage of ours, but I'm proud of the work we have done and so will be sharing some of the before and afters of our work.

For better or worse, all of the ideas and projects we have completed have been designed 100% by me. The one time we brought in an architect he was useless and told me to close my bedroom door. Many were visions I had from before we closed and we have brought them to reality, sometimes by our own hands and sometimes with the help of contractors.

In this case, I told the kitchen designer at the cabinet place what I wanted and they started with my sketch of a plan and other then helping with a couple of measurements to fit pieces, the layout and ideas were mine, and I'd not change one solitary thing other than the choice of double oven. It either burns or undercooks just about everything. No, it's not user error, at least not all the time. :-)
