I don’t recommend the bookcase window seating unit. It’s going to make an already awkward shaped room even more so. I suggest moving the bed to the front wall, getting two longer and taller bedside tables, moving the tv to the back wall with a nice console table underneath. Put the chest on the window wall and add some draperies 1.5 wider than the windows mounted 6” max below ceiling. That’s going to leave an area for seating (bench or otherwise) at the foot of the bed. The slanted wall as you enter is a great place for an oversized piece of art. Upsize your lamps also when budget allows. Nice large room so let it feel spacious, grand.

I agree that the bookcase/seating idea is not going to be helpful to this room. I agree with back wall for the bed, window wall for the tall chest. If you do need a bookcase for storage, try a low, long one on the front wall with an art gallery spanning that area and a pair of chairs sitting in front of it.

Have you tried moving the bed to the back wall and seeing exactly how much room you'd have if you put in those built-ins and window seats? Your room is irregular shaped and seems like it might limit arrangement even further by putting in permanent items.

Your bed would be blocking part of the view to them as well. Perhaps buy the furniture you plan to put in the front space and see how that cozies up the room for you before building permanent structures that likely nobody will ever use to sit on.

Edited to say, I also feel like more substantial night stands would add a lot to the space and maybe some fabric draperies instead of just the sheers.

I would not add a bookcase to that wall. Will make the room feel more out of balance.

What is your goal for adding the bookcases?

The bed belongs either on the window wall or back wall.

If you move it to the back wall, this will give you a nice seating area you can add to the front wall and the room will feel balanced.
