Waterfall or no waterfall - condo kitchen island

last modified: 6 years ago

Hello, I would like some advice for waterfall vs non waterfall design on a custom island for my condo. The difference in pricing is around $1k. Counter top thickness I decided to go with is 1 1/4". We sorely need counter top space for food prep and also dining. Having the island would also let us store smaller appliances such as coffee maker, water kettle and instant pot when not in use.

In the picture attached I have marked where the island will go. The appliance facing side will have 3 sizes of (small, medium, large) sliding cabinet shelves for storage and the opposite side will have a 13 inch breakfast nook. The island dining surface will be roughly 6 x 3 ft to accommodate 3 seats.

Matching finishes I selected, the countertop will be lyra silestone from consentino and the side panels will match the lower cabinet panels from Cleaf in wood effect fresh gray. Style wise we are aiming to add additional MCM style pieces to bring warmth to the place.
