Cute room! Are you still rocking babies? If not, is there another place for your rocking chair? To me the rocker looks like the piece that doesn’t belong with the others.

I just got my first granddaughter...and when I tried relocate my rocking chair to my room or our cabin I was met with a lot of resistance. We are a very sentimental family. I have pads for it that I would like to recover... but is there any certain pattern or color that would be more cohesive?

absolutely love the room and what you have done. how fun are the vintage pieces... as for the rocking chair, love it too. it's what makes a room personal and you... not sure if you are open to this idea, but what about painting it in a lacquer red and instead of a pad, put a fun throw pillow on it

Yes, spray paint the chair red ] and then use the red and white pillow on the couch for your inspiration.

Yes! Lacquer red chair sounds fun and I love the vintage look throw pillows, however...the problem is still the cushions. This rocking chair has to have the full cushions (the spindles in the back are super uncomfortable without them)
what pattern (stripes, calicos, solids, florals, checks, etc) and colors?

Kellee, just purchase a set of cushions for the rocker and them make a cover for it.

would you be open to doing a custom fabric on the cushion pad, I say that because all the seating pads that I see arent very fun and so maybe doing something custom could be a possibility?

as for what to add to the cabinet shelves, wondering if you have other vintage items for display? you clearly love vintage, so why not add some additional vintage items? another idea is lidded jars with fun candy in them. your room seems like it's used for fun, so you could buy some clear jars with lids, maybe from an antique store and fill them with candy.

oh yes...I have looked at pads ready to buy...nothing very appealing for me.
I have the original pads and can sew - so I could easily find fabric and make the covers myself. Just what fabric color/pattern? I could even have Spoonflower print a custom fabric that I create and could sew up...

I thought this fabric was fun... if you look at it on the chair in one of the pics on the website you can get a feel for the size of the pattern

just love your room and style. i love combining modern and vintage too and cant wait to hear and see what you get and do.

I was looking some more at your room and I think you might want to consider side tables and lamps for them. the room could use some more lighting, not just the cans in the ceiling.

The back wall has a coke machine that lights up + a real stop light + a neon vintage coca cola light...they all light up for extra ambience 😄

how fun is that. side tables and lamps can add more function, ie a place to put drinks down and task lighting for reading, etc. more than just a coffee table

love it! my husband is a collector of vintage beer signs and we have some neon and other beer signs that we love to light up too!!!

I don't have much space for a side table...but have thought about a high table behind the sofa...maybe a cute/functional lamp there?

winter in minnesota... the idea of a table behind the couch is a great one.. or maybe just a standing floor lamp, if you think its needed.
