Are the shutters black or blue? Whatever color you paint it paint the storm door and the side lights that color too.

Navy blue, maroon, gray, taupe. When you do paint the front door I would paint the area around the sidelights the same color as the trim. Get rid of the black hole effect. Also, the shutters are much too narrow for your windows. I would look at putting wider shutters on the first floor windows and remove and not reinstall them on the second floor, especially the double windows. Railings on the front porch would also enhance the look of the house (and based on the drop from the porch to the ground may even be required by code).

The shutters are black. I am installing a new front door with sidelights. I am getting rid if the storm door, actually entire door.

Should I do a door with an oval window in middle and sidelights, or too busy with the brick. Maybe maroon with white sidelights? No idea.

Door and sidelights same color I would do a solid door , or even a dutch door. no window at all.

yes no oval window, sometimes I think it dates the look of a house like this Less is more when you already have a lot going on..

Use a solid door, and solid glass on the sidelights. I would paint the front door black to match the shutters, or a deep shade of blue to coordinate with the blue siding.
