I would paint the kitchen soffit the same color as the rest of your kitchen walls. If you want a different color in the entry, I would look at a darker shade of White Duck, like Portico ( a deep tan) or an actual color like a green or blue that coordinates with colors in your adjacent rooms. You want the entry to be a taste of what you have going on in the rest of the house. It's hard to combine grays with beiges (White Duck) in a way that looks nice, and you have so many better options for a more interesting entry. How open are the spaces? What is the style of your home? What other colors do you have nearby?

Thank you! I would say my house is more transitional with a touch of modern farmhouse. It's a tri-level. Floors are natural stained red oak. Kitchen cabinets are a lighter maple. Kitchen backsplash & counters have grays & pewters. Stainless steel appliances.

The foyer is not very big, ceilings are 7.5 ft.
