I think art would definitely help. Maybe something in a grayish-green. That way the eye is drawn more to the gray color than the green on the walls. Floor runners in this color scheme would also help. How about something like this? Good luck!

I agree with both Granite Grannies and Julie!
The reason you're seeing the green in this paint colour is a result of the combination of the orange in your floor and potentially a "cool" (~3000 Kelvin or more) light fixture.
By adding a carpet runner in a cooler colour and a light bulb with a warmer Kelvin temperature (~27-2900K) you will notice more of the warm yellow tones in your paint rather than the green.

Awesome, thank you both! We usually don't have the lights on in the hall and when they're out, the wall looks more of a creamy beige with hints of gray and green. I'll have to research ceiling lights that have more of a white tint than yellow.

Are you keeping the blue or painting over it? If you're keeping the blue, then I think you need to choose another hall color.

Hi flowrhead, just to clarify, you WANT more of a "yellow" light!!! I'd recommend a good old fashioned incandescent bulb!!! That will emphasize the yellow in your paint, and neutralize the green!

Caroline - so bringing in cooler colors will tone down the green? Funny, I would have thought the opposite! Do you think it clashes too much with the gray in the dining room (BM Galveston Gray) and blue living room (BM Wythe Blue)?

Thanks Felix, I think my gut is telling me that I need to choose a color that has less yellow/green in it, like Revere Pewter. The Wythe Blue is definitely staying, I love that color and just painted the room a few months ago. I had originally planned to use Perfect Greige and bought a gallon of it, but it's too close to the dining room color and too dark for the hall/entryway (for my taste). Back to the paint store!

Art work will not change the color of the walls. Sorry. If you are not happy with the color in ALL lighting, you will not be happy with it anywhere. I suggest you find your perfect color. (advise from, Professional Painter for 15 years). Good Luck!

Now that you are considering a new colour all together, I'd recommend something in a darker value to blend better with the darker values of your Galveston Grey and Wythe Blue. If you are still looking for a warm beige, I would try something like Cobblestone CC-454.
