That's a hard call, because one person's inspiration is another person's "ho hum, how boring." Tell us more about what you enjoy looking at. Photos? Landscapes? Portraits? Color? Black and white? Sculpture? The options are truly endless.

I got so nostalgic seeing your high chair — a relative gave us one like that when my DD was a baby. :)

On to your wall .... are you thinking a gallery type wall? Or keeping it simple? What decorating styles do you like? Is the dining room open to your living room, on the right in this pic? If so, what is your art like in there?

Sorry for so many questions, just trying to get a sense of what you like. Without knowing anything else, I’m picturing a few pieces of framed Folk Art with maybe a kid’s drawing, maybe a couple of family pictures. A very homey feel. But I may be way off, and you love very minimal modern art or something. :D

good questions! i'm now sure what my style is..eclectic? here's a picture of our living room wall to give you more of an idea. it might seem busy...but it is across from a wall of windows so this is most of the decor in the whole room. i love it but i think maybe doing another one in the dining room might be too much. i guess i'm looking for something more streamlined?... the view of the dining room is from the kitchen which is smaller/galley styled. i was thinking of maybe some art...some plants on the walls? hard for me to envision....

Ok, working on a mock-up, brb. :)

First thing I would consider for your space is panels to the floor for the window. No need of spend a ton, there are some great ready made ones on line. Get them lined so they hang well and install the curtain rod at least 3” wider and 3” higher than the window. It will make your short window look more important.

I’d do floating shadow boxes, staggered, as per photo. No need to fill each one up...
