Love your space. Maybe a rolling bar cart to replace the chest?

Should I maybe do a chest higher then the console in the foyer since they share the same wall or is it ok to use a similar height chest - how about this bernhardt white/silver chest - to pull in more of the whites in the room (the chairs, ent piece, art above the dining table?

Looking for ideas for wall??? Do i do a chest or taller bar type cabinet. notice that there will be a console type table on same wall in foyer. Do i need something of a different height then foyer table? Or are 2 console/chest of same height ok?

Also - type of chest for wall across from dining area? White/silver accents? Silver? Dark like other furniture in room? Maybe mirrored chest?

How about an open shelving unit. It could be used for liquor, glasses etc. maybe something like this

you have a lovely place. a few ideas on a cabinet... your idea above is beautiful, but a few others... I think you could go a few different ways.. taller cabinet without anything above it or a lower cabinet with some art above perhaps.

Mandy, thanks for your input, but i am looking for something with closed cabinet doors. Theresa, great ideas, you are on the right track. Love the Jonathan Adler one and the RH one, but a little out of my price range. Looking for something under $2000.

You have a lovely home. I think perhaps a mirrored “Lucy” type cabinet with doors would do the trick, as it would reflect light nicely, which is ideal in a hall, and not feel too heavy, while still giving you the storage you’re looking for. I found one quickly on Houzz as an example. I’d recommend to then switch out the mirror with a nice art piece. Hope this helps!

Thanks Theresa, love love the 2nd ethan allen one, but the door front is Navy, too bad it didnt come in charcoal or black. Great piece, i missed that one. And also love the William Sonoma one, would get that one in a second, but fear it is too narrow. Only 34”. Love your ideas

the Ethan Allen one does come in two other color options... fyi if you didnt see them... the more I look at your space, the more I like the idea of a tall cabinet with longer legs. it provides an openness feeling in a walkway area... i also like the idea of bringing in a new color or texture...you may have already seen these as they are on the luxe decor website.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I love the white one, and have seen it and it is one of my considerations. Appreciate all your suggestions

just saw your note that 34in wide might be too narrow... why do you think that... you need more storage than that or is it because you think it's too narrow for the space... I ask because you say you love love it and if it doesnt have enough storage, I get it but I do think it could works in the area in terms of space. yes it's not as wide as your current one but I dont think it needs to be that wide for it to work.

Ok, thanks, was just considering the current one at 48” wide and thought it looked like a good size for the wall. Found a few at 42” and thought that would still be ok. Was just thinking 34 might be too narrow for the wall. It wasnt a storage issue. Just keep thinking it needed to be around size of existing one. Maybe it doesnt. Thx

I think actually a little smaller would work well there... it will give a little more breathing room on the wall. consider taping it out on the wall to see the size. i know your question was specific about a cabinet, but noticed u dont have any rugs in the dining room or living area... rugs could help ground the space and add some warmth... if you are interested..

Theresa, i will tape it out. The blue roll of tape is my friend. Also just moved in approx 10 months ago, this is a total redo - all new furniture. Only need to buy the hall chest piece and foyer piece. (And artwork/accessories). Will show you my 2 foyer piece choices as well, trying to decide on one or the other. Like them both, but thinking Demilune may be a little too deep and love the rectangular clear/acrylic one, but it is the same line as my cocktail and end tables. - dont know rule on to many matching tables. Rugs come after the hall chest and foyer console .

I understand your dilemma with the matchy matchy look. I personally like more of a collected look so I might stay away from the same style for the console. I might suggest something that isnt clear for the console.
