Free yourself from the brown toned roof, first. Not loving any, honestly. Failing that? Change all trim/ window casing to a very soft white, and change garage to a wood stain.Then stop until a re roof......to charcoal.

It's not the shingle that is hideous. It is trim/fascia and garage door color.

Or........... try a very DEEP and mossy tone trim until a roof change. It's the SHADE of green that' s....ick. : )

1st row right. it minimizes the garage door the most.

row 1#3 still but maybe punch up the white trim on the house only (as in the house on the 1st pic). That would visually bring the house out even more in my opinion.

Sorry, but I disagree with the black roof suggestion. I had a black roof and it didn't look good surrounded by trees. Also, it was a monster to look clean - brown leaves don't look good on a brown/tan roof. I changed to tan, but with updated architectural shingles. So, I wouldn't worry about the roof. When you have trees around, brown/tan is a good color for the roof. Now, of the choices you posted, second row, middle, but I would paint the garage door the same color as the house.

Instead of replacing your roof, would you consider a dark sage green with dark red or taupe trim? Do garage door same as siding to make it less prominent.

Top right for colors, but not a fan of the side-windows garage door in this setting. The top left for garage door style is my fav.

Not all of the garage doors you've shown work with the style of your home., especially the MCM ones. Can we see your entry area so we understand your home better first?

I didn't see black suggested for the roof. A medium gray or the charcoal Jan posted are both neutral and easy on the eyes.

Agree with deco...definitely no MCM garage door with this house. Carriage style would be nice.

The best ones have a contrast in the trim and paint color. The original garage door look fine and just painting it will save you money so row 1 #2 is my favorite.

Thanks everyone for the amazing feedback! Agree the roof color is a bit of a problem. Also agree with MCM door being a little too much for this house although transitional is quite popular in the PNW.

The second version! Awesome. (White with dark accent). This particular house style doesn’t look well in the greens.

The darker colors also fade a lot so be prepared to paint more often. They get chalky over time with a haze.

I like the blue one, middle, and the white and black one, middle. Agree with decoenthusiast that MCM garage door is wrong for this house. Carriage style doors, no matter what color. I’ve had a deep blue house and would not necessarily agree that the color fades more quickly- unless you live in the Southwest. Our home was in the Northeast.

I like the first one. Love the garage door and crisp trim against the blue.

I highly prefer a black or gray roof over a brown roof any day. I'm also a fan of Navy and White, my own house is BM Hales Navy and white. Dark colors do fade but mine was painted 3 years ago and it still looks good. Here are a couple of pictures with the gray roof, we now have black but I don't have any pics.

A lot of the newer homes here are like the middle section, white and darker accents.

I'm designed challenged but what my eye sees right away is the unequal distance from your garage doors compared to the height of the peaked roof. It looks off-balance compared to the other peaks/window ratios along your house side. BTW your home is lovely, and I personally like the green. The garage doors you show don't seem to do anything different. The windows match the shape of your existing ones. If it were my house I'd probably put the money into equalizing the distance of the peak. Another window, arbor, different siding detail???
