Definitely replace the pendants with something more current. You say you are replacing the chandelier, is there one there now? Picture just shows pot lights.

Hi Lindsay! I'm sure you notice a huge difference with the added recessed lights! Not sure if you put them on dimmers as this can help create a bit more mood when they are dimmed down. I would update the chandelier and pendants. Going to something more glass and metal to make the space feel more visually open. I find the colored glass and raised breakfast bar start to feel like a wall between spaces.

If you're adding a chandelier/pendant over the dining table, choose a rectangular one in ivory with same material finish to coordinate with your counter pendants, which will be fine as is since you don't want competing lighting.

9 ft ceilings, i believe the current chandelier hangs too low.

Bottom of chandelier should be 30-33” above top of table. Some fixtures can be different due to their shape. But that is rule of thumb. Here are a few you might like.

You might want to consider the Willamette for over peninsula. It is small area so this would look good!

The rug seems beautiful, and they aged/ distressed as they do. But it is an elegant look, so if that room is open to the DR, there could be less farmhouse and more transitional ... ? Even a bit much of dark wood items, and also dark bronze of lighting.

If it was me I wouldnt have pendants there they seem like if you are standing there they are at eye level, and when you are sitting they are right on top of you. However, if you keep the pendants i would do smaller glass, in length and or a small metal shade, since you still need these for task lighting avoid Edison bulbs. IMO
