Hi! I've had this calathea for a few months now, but recently it seems to be doing worse.4 months ago, I didn't water it enough so all the leaves curled inwards. I gave it a really good watering two days in a row and kept it near a diffused to increase humidity, and the leaves opened up. Ever since, the outside of the leaves have been turning brown and some leaves drying. I removed a lot of the dry leaves to give it more energy to focus on others, but it still is tightly shutting and drying its leaves, it just seems that what I'm doing is not working for it.

Last week, I realized I might have been overwatering it since there was water pooled under the planter (I keep some pebbles filled halfway with water between the planter which has drain holes and the pot for added moisture). I carefully removed the plant and replaced some of the soil with fast draining soil. Then I returned it to its place and continued with the humidifier.

I don't know what is the best way to deal with this now. Should I also cut off those two leaves that are curled and sort of dry/crunchy?

This is the "before" photo of this plant. This was after it curled a lot of leaves and was 'revived' after two deep waterings. I don't know what I'm doing wrong that made it lose so many of these beautiful leaves!!! I really want to bring it back to life- any advice is greatly appreciated!
