Check with your extension service. It's usually at your land grant university. You can get a definite diagnosis.

The other thing I would suggest is if you have to destroy the plants, do so and get it over with. I didn't do that when my hosta got the incurable type of root rot. They told me to toss the ones that were infected, but I kept trying to treat them, as they gave me suggestions on treatment too. I ended up losing about 90 hosta, some of which were 10 or so years old.

i dont recall where you are ... but it looks a bit like cold damage ... note the interior unfurled leaves have no problem.. only the open ones... i dont recall where you are to rule that out.. when where the pix taken ....

i would expect a tree seller to have inspected stock for sale .... it seems wierd it would have come with VW ...

i have many RBs around... it is not the tree itself ...

I am in Ottawa county, West Michigan, zone 6a. I thought I had it on my profile name at one time. I just tried to edit it and Houzz seems to be difficult here too.

The pictures were taken in mid May and it may be possible it is just cold damage (I hope so). The redbud tree sure seems to show all the symptoms of verticillium wilt.
