It won't be an issue if you don't run them while sleeping.

Yes it is noisy, but not bad if we close the laundry room door. The W/D do not back on the bedroom. But the washer and dryer opening and closing when my kids are doing laundry late is noticeable, as well as the door opening and closing. I am not a big fan of close to my bedroom. It is one of the only things I would change about my house.

I faced this dilemma in a remodel because I wanted second story laundry but also needed 5 bedrooms and 3 baths upstairs. So the laundry is next to master but I put the machines on the opposite wall. I honestly don’t hear them but if I put a load in when I go to bed, I use the delay wash function and delay for 6 -8 hours. I also do not have little kids. I have LG machines. Also, since my dryer is gas, I have to have a vented pocket door. I chose pocket door but it has slats per code. The sound still doesn’t bother me, though again, I don’t do much laundry when I am actually sleeping.

Noise does not bother me.

I was going to put my laundry closet next to the bedroom because the hallway was a bit wider there compared to where i put it under the stairs. I didn’t because everyone told me i’d hear it at night, except I never run the machines at night. It’s one of three oops I made in building the house
