I find drapes a pain on sliders. I did solar shades with a cornice. It's a neat look.

DH made cornices for our french doors (and all the other windows in this area) when we swapped out the slider. There were the hideous but useful vertical blinds to cover up already there. I have one curtain panel hung to hide the blinds stack. We RARELY feel the need to use the blinds so seemed prudent to keep them and just hide them. I love my cornices!! They were made from poplar ceiling cove trim.

I do not plan to put drapes on any other window (there is also window seat in the same room)

I don't know if I will leave the wooden blinds or shades or??

but for now, my focus is the verticle blinds.

if I used a curtain I was thinking I would pull to one side similar to the picture put a little more swagger at the top.

it's a slim area so I don't want to let them hang on both sides or it will be crowded
