How small can you realistically keep container citrus?

I have a south-facing bay window, which is the only south-facing window of the house where I could realistically keep plants. I was thinking about keeping a container citrus tree or two (Calamondin orange and Meyer lemon) on the windowsill there, but I am wondering how large those trees will get in the long-term. 3 foot tall trees could be reasonably accommodated in that space, but anything much taller would look silly. Can I keep them under 3 feet tall over the long-term? If it'll be 20 years before it really becomes a problem, I'll probably still give it a go, but maybe not if they'll only be good there for like 3 years.
