Small utility room/walk through

I have a small utility room but with the way our house is laid out, that is the door that everyone walks through (from the garage). I am not opposed to painting the walls, cabinets... maybe putting something up above the cabinets to the left of the washer/dryer. Any ideas welcomed! thank you!

After everything else is in place, buy a bigger colorful rug.

What is in the closet across from the appliances? IF there is not a rod in there, you should install one. I do not think you have the height above the washer and dryer to install one there that would be useful. Personally, I think the room is presentable and just needs sprucing up. A few pictures on the wall will add to a less utilitarian appearance. I don't know what that stuff was on the cabinet-it looked like just stuff dropped there. Clean it up-it appears you have good storage space. If your cabinets and the closet are full-get rid of the things that are of no use and free up the space. I don't think spending lots of money and labor time on a laundry room yields much more than personal satisfaction. Few if any of our family and friends care as much we we do about our washers and dryers and the space they sit in.

I do have a rod in the closet on the other side. I just want to decorate a little to make it look cute. Thanks!

You would be surprised what a difference a few pictures on the wall and maybe a clock would make. I had some small paintings and things that did not go elsewhere but in the laundry room made a huge difference.

If you feel about laundry the way I do, and add to that the fact this is a major thorough fare at your house, I'd be making this a room that brings you joy, no matter how small.
Favorite colors, fun wallpapers. I'd definitely put up a rod to hang clothes straight from the dryer (we use ours constantly!!!!), or at the very least one of those pull out rods for laundry days.
Browse Houzz photos. Lots of beautiful and efficient laundry rooms out there. Now I've got the bug!!

What would something like this look like? Painting stripes on the back wall? Is this in or out? Lol
