My hours were cut from 40 to 24 starting this week. I was off Monday and have worked 6 hours the other days. I cleaned the house on Monday and got a much-needed haircut. Tuesday DH & I went out to dinner at Cracker Barrel. They had moved the tables far apart but were doing pretty good business.

My company owns eight hotels in Orlando, which are all still open for now. We have 3 convention properties that are extremely low occupancy, but the other 5 "leisure" properties still have customers. The kitchens at all of our hotels are closed but the Lite Bites (where you can get sandwiches, salads, snacks, & sundries) are open.

I have been sewing with some of my extra time, but have also done a few things that kept getting put off: shredded a bunch of old paperwork, uninstalled programs off an old PC so we can get rid of it, and stuff like that. I'm contemplating washing the windows on Monday! LOL

As much as I want to stay in (and sew), there seem to be little errands needing doing and since I am the driver, for now anyway, I have to go out.

Once I am out and back, I lose my steam and just veg. However after today’s outing, I am going to hide the car keys and forget where I put them. I do have the backing for the baby quilt so that might get done today...or tomorrow.

I ended up working Tuesday and Thursday, but I was the only one in the office. Home today and plan on tidying up the basement for a while before heading to the sewing room. I've been cutting scraps, but I want to get back to quilting, so will have to put all the shoe boxes away first. I really want to start piecing another quilt, but am forcing myself to finish the current one first.

I have several unfinished projects looming. If I can find a surface that's clear to pin up a quilt, I'll start quilting my applique project. I have new things in mind but want to up my game a bit and try not to look too scatterbrained. It's nice to have something on the machine that I can just sit at now and then without a deadline.

We're quarantined here in California and I made a big grocery buy so am in good shape to stay in. Fortunately my stores are restocking a lot so I am finding what I need. But to keep the risk down, I prefer to stay home.

I found I can sew masks if needed. Maybe I should post that picture today. Anyone who can sew can make masks if they are needed and in short supply. Color choice is another story. STAY WELL ALL.

I sew an article about sewing masks, but when I looked further another blog said just cotton fabric is not enough. You need a filter. If I find something definitive, I'll be happy to make masks, but I don't want to make them if nobody is going to want them.

All of our schools are closed for the next two weeks, as are all day care centres. These are serious times.

All Ohio schools have been closed all week and for the next two weeks. A lot of stores are closed, all Restaurants are take out only, and we are to only go out if necessary. Ohio had it’s first death from the virus today.

Still hand quilting. I'm not in a hurry though. I did go to Walmart early this morning and although there were shelves empty I managed to get what I needed. They even had some packages of chicken - big ones. So I bought a 16 piece package of thighs and split them up and froze them. Funny, when I went all the way back to the end of the main aisle and was getting ready to make a left, there was a store employee standing back there with 2 packages of TP. She asked me very quietly if I needed any. I thought for a minute then I said to her "you know, it's very tempting to get some even though I have some at home but I'm going to leave it for some very desperate person who really needs it badly." I hope I don't regret that.

Good for you, Rita. I wonder how many others would have done that.

I worked Mon-Wed. We closed the front doors and are only dispensing through the drive through window so we can lysol wipe the signature pad in between patients. Most people seem well and I'm only aware of of 2 cases in my county. If anyone one of the few of us that work my pharmacy get the virus, I am sure we will close our doors for a couple of weeks...there are 2 other locations where patients can pick prescriptions up. We have all been so careful, but you can only do so much.

Hope everyone stays well until they develop a vaccine.

I am an IT/IS manager at a large flooring manufacturer. They just decided to send anyone who can do their job at home that way for at least 2 weeks. My teams run from the 1st level Support Center/Help Desk to 3rd level support, therefore we will be in and out so that we can support the business. Sending users home with their computers guarantees that something is gonna break. :) So hopefully we can stay healthy and support the users at the same time. It is going to be interesting. I have already had two users who went home with a laptop thinking that it would magically connect to the Internet...neither had ever had Internet in their home. I do not know how much sewing/quilting I will get done this week. LOL

Jackie, too funny that they didn't realize they needed the Internet in their home. Think of all the books that could be written after this is over.

I just watched a couple of videos showing how to make face masks. We have a senior nursing home in our area and I wondered if they would like some for their elderly residents.

Lord knows I have enough fabric to kit out the entire home. Elastic might be the problem though..

I will call tomorrow and ask.
