IMO we need to know a lot more about your style. IMO polished concrete works best in a contemporary setting. I think if I was doing it I would do it everywhere but I am sure the pros who do it can handle the transitions to tile I love the look of concrete floors but IMO way too hard on knees , backs and feet . I have worked in commercial kitchens with concrete floors and you need to have shoes with good shock absorption to spend a whole day on concrete ot tile for that matter. So I guess from a practical POV I would do engineered.

I don’t really have a specific style, I think anyway. I am terrible at this, al lot more creative people out there than me. Here are some of the details I can give you. My kitchen is open to a breakfast area and living area. I have a brick fireplace I am going to tone down with German shmear or white wash. I have cherry(reddish) cabinets in the kitchen. There will be white mounding throughout the house. I like the modern farmhouse and traditional styles. Just want it to be welcoming and comfortable. Not super modern or Industrial.

IMO forget concrete flors in your space.
