Two "hostage" situation quilts finished!

I have a friend who is calling this quarantine a "hostage situation" and is posting what she is doing everyday of her situation. I chuckle every day because I am getting so much done, it has been good for me to take a step back from everyday stuff and get to focus on finishing projects. She is, too.

I finished pieceing the elephant quilt, got it sandwiched, and quilted. It finished 38" x 44". I pieced the owl quilt at retreat last year and finally got it sandwiched, quilted and binding done. It finished 42" x 48".

This quilt will go to a friend's grandbaby girl due in May.

The owls are going to another friend's new granddaughter arriving in July.

Lovely! I like your purple elephant. I was thinking the other day that I needed to do it in more colors.

Those are great. Yes, I am getting lots of projects done while being a hostage. And, when I feel the need to go out to eat, there is a Burger King near us that still has a drive thru open.

They are so cute! My one daughter always loved elephants and the other owls. We went for a drive today and stopped for ice cream.

Both are very sweet, Sue. I especially love the elephant. I can't wait to get home tomorrow. I need to stop at the sewing center and pick up my tuned-up machine. Then home to buy some groceries and get quilting. I haven't done anything since early December, and I'm so ready to start.

I really think that people who do things like quilting, gardening, etc. fare much better in this situation. I really feel sorry for anyone who lives in an apartment and has no indoor interests except for TV. Since I love to quilt, cook, bake and garden I'm in good shape and I'm used to being alone a lot since DH still works. My problem is that I HATE being told to stay at home. I've always been that way, even when I was a little kid. I can stay at home for weeks except for the necessities but as soon as I'm told I need to stay at home I get really edgy and itchy and rebellious.

I agree, Rita, we have so much we can do at home. I told DH I feel sorry for the people who don't know how to cook!

Sue those are both very cute and I'm sure will be well loved. Nice job.

I kinda wish I was told to stay home. A break from work would be nice...its been crazy to say the least with all of the covid-19 precautions we have to take. Most people are adapting just fine. I hope we reach the turning point soon so that the country and all of us can recover from this terrible illness.

Lovin' the elephant........maybe it's the purple? :-) I think this shelter at home situation is good for a lot of reasons.
