Do not try to find a horizontal mosaic. Those have been trending for about 10 years and will date your kitchen to 2012. They also end up a lot busier looking than what you see with just a sample.

I know you don't want to waste money, but I would take the plastic of at least 2 of the sheets to see the real color. Use quake putty to hold the tiles on the wall in the correct position, not just propped up at an angle.

I would probably look for a larger tile.

Are those glass tiles? If they are, they might actually turn a bit green once installed and grouted. The color changes in glass tiles once they are installed and light can not get through all side of the tiles. Buyer beware!

I appreciate both comments very much. Can you recommend a specific tile or look? I want something that reflects light and isn't busy.

OP: in my world, 'reflective' is 'busy'... so a conundrum for me.

my suggestion is check out Fireclay, Cle, Ann Sacks, Walker Zanger... bring a samples home to see in your space/light, buy samples if you must.

figure out your budget

your counters and kitchen overall are on the 'quiet' side, so you really go for a WOW factor if you want. or you can pick an overall 'quiet' BS and make things pop with art and accessories, which you can easily change when you get tired of them... BS is pretty permanent, so be sure you love it :)

Good comments! I think of the backsplash as being a canvas against which I can have more colorful items on the counter, which might not pop as much as they will against a "quiet" (love that description) backsplash. Yours is the second comment that mentions Walker Zanger. I will check it out. Thank you!

You have a lovely kitchen. If you can afford the cost of running the countertop up as your backsplash it would look fabulous.

I did. My husband is installing right now and should be able to grout tomorrow. I will post "after" photos, and maybe some "before" photos, when it's all finished this week. (This week! Finally!) I sincerely appreciate your comment about my kitchen. We who are not designers just go with our guts!

The wall paint color is called Nomadic Taupe, which is funny because my eyes see it as leaning a bit toward green. It's a nice neutral that the previous homeowners used throughout the house. Very calm and understated.
