Wanted! DR update ideas

My dining room furniture has to remain as the buffet is 100+ yrs old and was passed down to me. DR has a white coffered ceiling, wall color is blue/gray, curtains are beige as is the rug. Floors are medium hardwoods. Would like a more casual feel. Willing to paint walls. Any chandelier or decor suggestions? 😊

The strong color of your furnishings kind of overwhelms the room. You might consider a stronger paint color on the walls for more balance for starters. Then it's time to change out the chandelier to something less ornate.

I think you should change out the gold framed picture on the wall for something in a larger wooden frame. I would also get some decor items for the top of the buffet and the table that will tie in with the furniture.
