DIY dry shampoo for dogs

Hello, everyone! I posted about this in another forum. I have an elderly dog who turns a corner on ripeness (you know what I mean) pretty quickly. We have a wonderful, caring groomer who usually bathes her every 6-8 weeks, but the store is closed during this time.

I found this recipe for DIY dry shampoo for dogs. I tried it yesterday on her. Her coat is quite thick, and I massaged it in, brushed her, and then took her for a walk to shake off excess. 24 hours later I can report that it has worked to diminish her odor.

I don't believe the lavender essential oil was necessary, except perhaps the scent itself was calming to her in the process. Some recipes call for tea tree oil, and I thought that perhaps could have been questionable to use. Otherwise, equal parts corn starch and baking soda does the trick!
